Author's notes: A million years ago, I promised another 4080 story to Caeseria and Jedi. This thing has been deleted, rewritten, and rewritten again. Apparently, 535 is hard for my brain to write (I love reading it!) Anyway, sorry for the delay ladies!

Whymzy and Jedishampoo helped make this story palatable. I thank them for their help, but I did touch it last. (And yes, I made Jedi beta'd a fic I'd written for her. I suck.)

I have pictures from Chicago I hope to post this weekend -- no peeps, I'm afraid, just stuff. I visited Chicago my first time when I was 23, I think. I loved it then and I was happy to find that in spite of my jaded point of view now, my warm feelings for the Windy City had not changed. Chicago is awesome and has the friendliest people I've ever stumbled on in my life. Amazing.

Books of fail

I bought $60.00 of reading books yesterday. Hardy, Banks, Huff, Jones (not Howl's Moving Castle) and Gaiman amongst others.

I've not have a good stretch of reading. Dan Simmons' The Terror was a brilliant book up to the last 50 pages. Then, what the fuck? Seriously, if I ever meet him again, I am asking him that question. I mean, not every book can be a winner but it was so good until that lameass ending. What the fuck, Dan?

Also, I finally finish JS LeFanu's The Haunted Baronet - fah! Fah, I say! What the hell was that? A more jumbled up story... cha! If I was Sanzo, I would shoot that book!

I'm trying Lost Souls now. I love Ghost and Steve, but there's a bit too much whining from the other characters so far. You're Vampires - kill somebody, goddamn it!

Maybe I'm just not in the mood.

I'm hoping Iain Banks can pull me out since Dan Simmons failed me. Plus I need to get cracking on Someplace to be Flying by DeLint. That might pull me out of my reading funk, too. I looked for a hardcopy of it yesterday, but I couldn't find one. Maybe I need some hard science fiction.

Eh, anyway. That's my reading rant for today!
